THE MOST COMMON CAUSES FOR AN ENGINE TO OVER HEAT ARE:

COOLING SYSTEM LEAKS WHICH IS A PRIMARY CAUSE FOR ENGINE OVER HEATING.

THE WRONG COOLANT CONCENTRATION, SO BE SURE TO USE THE CORRECT COOLANT 

RECOMMENDED FOR YOUR VEHICLE. A BAD THERMOSTAT, THE THERMOSTAT CAN BE STUCK

IN THE CLOSED POSITION CAUSING THE COOLANT TO STAY IN THE ENGINE CAUSING IT TO 

OVERHEAT.

 

BLOCKED COOLANT PASSAGEWAYS, RUST, DIRT, AND SEDIMENT CAN BUILD UP 

WHICH CAN CAUSE THE SYSTEM TO BE UNABLE TO PROPERLY CONTROL ENGINE TEMPERATURES.

A FAULTY RADIATOR, LEAKS AND CLOGGING ARE MOST COMMON CAUSES OF RADIATORS TO FAIL, AND 

ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIATORS FUNCTIONS CAN LEAD TO THE ENGINE OVER HEATING.

WORN/BURST HOSES, A HOSE THAT HAS ANY CRACKS OR HOLES OR BURSTS CAN RESULT IN LEAKS

WHICH CAN DISRUPT THE FLOW OF COOLANT TO THE ENGINE AND WILL CAUSE OVER HEATING.

A BAD RADIATOR FAN, THE FAN BLOWS AIR ACROSS THE RADIATOR FINS TO ASSIST IN REDUCING THE 

TEMPERATURE OF THE COOLANT, ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FAN WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REDUCE THE TEMP

TO A PROPER LEVEL, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO OVER HEAT.

 

A LOOSE OR BROKEN BELT, A BELT IS THE LINK THAT TURNS 

THE WATER PUMP AT THE CORRECT SPEED FOR THE COOLANT TO PROPERLY FLOW THROUGH THE COOLING SYSTEM,

IF A BELT IS LOOSE OR BROKEN IT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GO THE CORRECT SPEED CAUSING POOR COOLANT FLOW AND THEN

IT WILL END IN THE ENGINE OVERHEATING. AND FINALLY A FAULTY WATER PUMP WHICH IS THE CENTER OF THE COOLING SYSTEM,

IF THERE IS ANY MALFUNCTION OF THE WATER PUMP IT CAN PREVENT THE PROPER COOLANT FLOW AND THUS RESULTING

IN YOUR ENGINE OVERHEATING.
